1856: 1 s. green, plate 1, wmk. emblems, in combination with 1862 9 d. bistre, plate 2, lettered BQ, used on cover from London to Salkote, India, tied by undated 'WC/2' black barred circular, endorsed 'via Marseilles', addressed to a Major in the 93rd Highlanders. To the reverse a Bombay cds (12 January 1863), a Lahore hexagon datestamp (18 January) and arrival cds alongside (19 January), all in red. Some damage apparent to envelope and flap missing. Stamps at top have perf. disturbance and minor imperfections. A very scarce example. One of three recorded covers with the 1856 1 s. green together with the 1862 9 d. bistre in a mixed franking.
