1881 (Dec 13): 1 d. lilac, wmk. Crown, perf. 14, used on a piece, dated 21 March 1898, tied by the rare Empire Machine England Flag Trial cancellation in black. Fine strike of this postmark which was only in use for one hour a day for four days. Rare example used on the last day of the Trial; one of five known examples of this machine cancel.
