1840: 1 d. black, plate 2, lettered KD, a used example, three large margins and touched at base, on 1840 cover from Lennoxtown to Glasgow cancelled by two very fine strikes of the Maltese Cross in magenta, with corresponding Receiving House "18" marking in the same ink on reverse. Glasgow datestamps of 28 and 29 December clearly struck on reverse. Minor age toning but a very rare cover, RPSL cert. (1983) Gi AS14vd = £ 8'500.
