1854: 2 d. blue, plate four, perf. 16, wmk. small crown, three horizontal pairs, lettered KA-KB, NC-ND and KC-KD (respectively left to right), used on printed circular letter sheet, sent from Liverpool to New York, dated 28 July 1854, tied by Liverpool '466' spoon duplex in black, with 'PAID' handstamp in red and '5/cents' applied on arrival in New York alongside. To the back an 'L' oval Liverpool packet datestamp in black (28 July). The one shilling rate up to ½ oz. The contents relates to the grain commodity market. A fine and scarce franking, the shilling made up from x6 2 d. blue perf. 16. Cert. RPSL (1994).
