Overprinted on Transvaal in Pretoria 1889/90: Transvaal 2 d. olive-bistre, perf. 12½, overprinted in black, five used examples, astonishingly all from Row 6, stamp 1, each showing variety "Swazielan", used on "Duiven - Van Gorcum" double rate cover to Assen, Holland tied by "Bremersdorp" squared circle datestamps (Aug 1, 1892) in black. Reverse with Johannesburg transit cds (Aug 5), Cape Town (Aug 9), London (Aug 29) in red and Assen arrival. Illustrated in "Swaziland Philately" edited by Peter van der Molen on page 35. The cover with edge wear and snip at top left but very rare. Cert. BPA (1984) Gi = £ 2'500 off cover.
