Vryburg 1900: British re-occupation, "St. Quintin" provisional, Hope seated ½ d. green on envelope tied by circular "VRYBURG / CGH" with manuscript "CSQ" (initials of Intelligence Officer, Clifford St. Quentin). The Officer located the datestamp after the Boers had left Vryburg, but not the central dater, thus he meticulously signed each stamp sold in the date position: see the Harry Birkhead sale for further examples.
