British Protectorate 1815-1864 1835 (Feb 26): Entire letter from Corfu to Trieste endorsed "Col. Imperio Reggio Pachetto" with fine large Coat of Arms "OFFICIO DELLA POSTA GENERALE / CORFU" cachet with "6d." rate in red manuscript, hooded CORFU despatch on reverse in black (Feb 26). Disinfected on arrival with part red wax seals remaining on reverse. On arrival scarce "Jonia." handstamp applied in blue with Triest arrival also in blue on reverse where charged "12" kreuzers (disinfection 1½ kr + 10 kr. postage, rounded up to 12 kr.).
