British Protectorate 1815/64 1847: Prepaid entire letter from Zante to Marseille struck on despatch with hooded "ZANTE" datestamp in blue-green (Sept 10) and "3d." local rate in red manuscript, very fine "♚ / PAID AT ZANTE" in green with "5d." manuscript ship rate in ink adjacent; reverse with MALTA double arc cds of transit (Sept 13) and Marseille arrival on obverse (Sept 19) in red where charged "7" décimes due in manuscript. A fine and rare entire Gi = £ 1'400.
