British Protectorate 1815-1864 1859: Perkins Bacon Die Proof struck on white card (49 x 73 mm.), engraved in black with the head plate added into the vignette, with pencil notation "shews insertion of head" below. Some trivial soiling, this being a working Proof. Unique in private hands, a further example being housed in the collection of His Majesty Charles III, most attractive.
