Russian P.O. in Tripoli of Syria, Ingoing 1884 (April 22): Envelope from Constantinople to Tripoli, bearing on front and reverse 1884 7 kop. blue perf. 14½:15, on front in addition 1866 1 kop. black on yellow, all on horizonztally laid paper, tied by oval "P.O.P.iT. / KONSTANTINOPOL 2 APR 84" datestamp in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 16), showing on reverse a despatch strike of the same datestamp from April 14 and and at arrival a clear strike of the extremely rare "R.O.P.iT. / AGENT. TRIPOLI / 22 APR 84" datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig 213/809), in black too. One of only two covers recorded, the other described in Tchilinghirian also from the Liphschutz collection and directed from Alexandria to Beirut in September 1884, nevertheless even as receiver a very rare mark.
