lot # 2494 - spanien
1850: 6 cs. black, plate 2, type 30, used on cover, from ALCOY to ALICANTE, tied by a superb combination of the ''1 R' double circle in red, and a spectacular spider handstamp in black, Alcoy datestamp (8 Jan 1851) also to front, with manuscript 'Con Cargo', and '1R' charge (the stamp circulated after the period of validity), arrival to reverse (8 Jan 1851), two vertical filing creases, one affecting the left side of the stamp, otherwise fine, a visually appealing, rare and almost certainly unique example. Cert. Comex (2007).
