"43" and adjacent red Ra2 "FREIBURG 11.Dec. 51" on complete small folded cover to Baron Rudolph von Türckheim, written by his mother, to Pola in Istria. The letter is franked with 9 Kreuzer association fee and 6 Kreuzer transit fee for a transport via Switzerland. On the reverse cancellation of the Baden Travelling Post Office, transit postmark of Trieste and arrival postmark. According to the postal treaty of 1849, the letters were taken from the Efringen railway station to the Baden postoffice in Basel and from there transported in closed parcels via Italy to Trieste.
