China, 1897 (3 June) envelope to Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.A. (7.7) via Chinese Imperial P.O. in Shanghai (5.6), Yokohama (17.6) and Vancouver (30.6) bearing small figures surcharge on Dowager 1st printing 5c. on 5ca., cancelled by "Customs/Foochow" double-ring d.s. in brown, in combination with Japan Koban 5s., cancelled by "Shanghai/I.J.P.O." c.d.s. (11.6), envelope a little reduced at left, very fine cover with late use of the "Customs/Foochow" dater. Chan 41.
