VERY FINE AND SCARCE COMPLETE PANES OF THESE UNDENOMINATED MACHIN HEADS STAMPS. A KEY ITEM FOR THE MACHIN SPECIALIST.

The Machin definitives were originally printed by way of lithography for the Royal Mail. It was eventually decided that these definitives should be printed by gravure. The House of Questa in London did not have the capability of printing in gravure. Therefore, these were printed by Courvoisier based in Switzerland and bear the company name in the side selvage. While it is not known how many sheets were printed or ultimately released, there is likely only a small handful available. (Image Magnifier)

Estimate $3000 - $4000
