HARTMANN SCHEDEL. Folio leaf woodcut images on both sides: The Menorah. * the Temple of Jerusalem. Each matted. Rubens 1350-51. Nuremberg, Anton Koberger, 1493. In his celebrated Liber Chronicarum, Hartmann Schedel (1440-1514), a German humanist and historian, divided world history into six ages, from Creation until the present. The book owes its extreme popularity to the fine woodcuts by the artists, Michael Wolgemuth and Wiliam Preydenwurff. Some sealed tears and pressed folds in margins, images show minor tropical points.
