Auction #35: Worldwide Stamps, Postal History, Worldwide Coins & Worldwide Banknotes.

1948, I have examined the envelope posted on May 4, 1948, franked with one postage stamp, forerunner of the interim period, "Safad Local" 10 mils black, printed locally on envelope paper with blue Moire pattern, emergency issue during the siege of the city, and showing the variety Moire almost entirely invisible, Bale Catalogue #124 unlisted variety, cancelled and tied to the envelope by a single strike of the rectangular framed red postmark of May 4, 1948, and with no other postal markings, a colour reproduction  which is on the reverse side of this certificate, reduced to 70% of true size, and I am of the opinion that it is a First Day Issue.
