Glossy chocolate brown and steel with a splash of lighter golden tan toning between stars 11 & 12. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas on both sides. Lustrous chocolate and light olive brown with faded mint color covering 5% of the planchet. No spots, stains, or notable marks. Finding any identifying marks is a challenge; a tiny planchet flake on the throat and another on a dentil over the second T in STATES are the best available. Extremely shallow low spots caused by debris on the die produced microscopic roughness the field inside the wreath. A beautiful cent, nearly choice. LDS die state d, with all the die cracks described by Grellman. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#2 honors for the variety in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. A faint hint of reddish brown toning on the upper lip is the only mark. Otherwise this cent is choice and the eye appeal is outstanding for the grade. MDS with several tiny lumps (from die rust) at star 4. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS62BN (NGC label #696018-004 included, and it shows the attribution). Very attractive for the grade, very close to AU50. The only marks are a small spot of slightly lighter toning between star 3 and the dentils and a barely visible rim bruise off the tip of the wreath ribbon. Lustrous bluish steel and light olive brown with mellowed mint red covering at least 10% of both sides. No spots or stains, only a few tiny contact marks, mostly in the field before the portrait. A tiny linear planchet flake left of the peak of the 1 is the only notable mark. LDS, die state d, with a series of narrow rim cuds on the obverse, the strongest of these cuds right of star 9 and below the date. An attractive cent, and the reverse is choice. The Gobrecht Head design (the wavy-top head seen only on the N-6 and N-7 die varieties). Glossy steel brown and light chocolate with mint frost in protected areas. No spots or stains, very nice for the grade. The only marks are a half dozen microscopic pinpricks at ES in STATES. Sharply struck MDS.  Lot 537 - united states liberty cents - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles, Inc. Pre-Long Beach Auction #841840 N-3 R1 Small Date PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty medium steel brown with a hint of underlying reddish steel brown faded from mint color bleeding through in the fields and protected areas. A tiny spot of dark toning on the front edge of the nose before the eye is the only notable mark, and it is barely visible. The toning is attractive but this cent may have been dipped long ago and nicely retoned over time. MDS, die state b. The lump under the right end of the base of the 1 is dull but clearly visible. The hair at the top of the ear is not quite fully struck up but everything else is sharp. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#9 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Frosty light brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Excellent eye appeal. The notable marks are a small nick on the cheek near the hair, a spot of reddish brown toning between the bottoms of the N & E in ONE, and a puff of darker chocolate brown toning at F-A. LDS. Evidence of the misplaced S left of the first S in STATES is gone. Struck with the obverse die slightly misaligned to K-4.5 while the reverse is properly centered on the planchet.
