Israel: IDF 'Mechanized-Armoured Infantry Corps' pin ("Ot Khermesh"), circa. 1970's; not maker-marked; size: 3.8 x 1.8cm; weight: 2.35g. This pin was awarded to soldiers who completed the basic training course for joining such units. It was instituted in 1973 but didn't remain in use for long, as the emblem of the Tank Corps was the prefered symbol of the soldiers.
Israel: IDF 'Mechanisierter-gepanzerter Infanterie-Korpus', Stift ("Ot Khermesh"), ca. 1970er; kein Hersteller gekennzeichnet; Größe: 3,8 x 1,8 cm; Gewicht: 2,35 g. Dieser Stift war den Soldaten zuerkannt, die die Grundausbildung für die Teilnahme an solchen Einheiten absolvierten. Er wurde in 1973 eingeführt, ist aber nicht im Einsatz für lange Zeit geblieben, weil das Emblem des Panzerkorpus das bevorzugte Symbol der Soldaten war.

Israel: early version of IDF emblem hat badge, circa. 1948-early 1950s; not maker-marked; weight: 7.7g. The badge bears a two-pronged malleable pin backing, and would have been worn on Hitelmacher hats or briefly on visored hats (until corps emblems replaced this generic army-wide emblem).
Israel: frühe Version des IDF-Emblems, Hut-Abzeichen, ca. 1948-Anfang 1950er; kein Hersteller gekennzeichnet; Gewicht: 7,7 g. Das Abzeichen hat einen zweigleisigen formbaren Stift als Sicherung und wurde auf Hitelmacher-Hüten oder kurz auf Hüten mit Visier getragen (bis Korpus-Embleme dieses typische Armee-weite Emblem ersetzten).

Britain: set x2 identity tags belonging to Palestinian-Jewish soldier, circa. 1914-1918; weight: 1) 1.95g and 2) 1.65g. Tags bear virtually same information; issued to "Weinstein E # PAL10111 # JEW". The green tag was strung through 1 hole & hung around neck; through 2nd hole, shorter cord strung w/red red tag on it; red tag was retrieved by cutting its string, leaving green tag on body: if body found only with green tag, was understood that soldier's death already reported. Dated to WW1 but ID begins w/"PAL" ('Palestine') as in WW2, & not "RF" ('Royal Fusiliers') as the Palestinian units in WWI were known: soldier may be Pal. resident or in Zion Mule Corps.
Großbritannien: Satz x2 Identität-Markierungen, gehöre zu palästinensischen jüdischen Soldaten, ca. 1914-1918; Gewicht: 1) 1,95 g und 2) 1,65 g. Markierungen tragen praktisch dieselben Informationen; ausgestellt für "Weinstein E # PAL10111 # JUDEN". Die grüne Markierung wurde durch 1. Loch aufgereiht & hing um Hals; kürzere Schnur durch 2. Loch m. roter Markierung aufgereiht; rote Markierung wurde durch Schneiden ihrer Schnur wiederhergestellt, grüne Markierung wurde am Körper gelassen: wenn Körper nur mit grüner Tag gefunden wurde, war es verstanden, dass der Tod des Soldaten bereits berichtet. Datiert WWI, aber ID beginnt mit "PAL" ("Palästina") wie im WW2, & nicht "RF" ("Royal Fusiliers'), wie die palästinensischen Einheiten im WWI bekannt waren: Soldat konnte palästinensischer Resident oder in Zion Mule Korpus sein.

Opens w/greeting by Brigade cmdr Dan Even. Cover entitled "Echo of the Mediterranean", w/quote ex Book of Joshua; editors: Michael Deshe (a famous writer & poet) & Emanuel Zamir (lyricist & poet, prominent in 1950s). In June 1948 the Brigade was involved in 'Altalena affair'; in August Even was promoted to General & cmdr of eastern front. In near-mint condition.

Israel: emblem pin for Palestinian Jews who volunteered in British military in World War II, c. 1954; not maker-marked; size: 17.5 x 20mm; weight: 2.5g. Depicts sword (whose base turns into olive branch) breaking ring of barbed wire & chain enclosing Star of David, set against stripes of Israeli/ Zionist flag. May date to 1954, when an official celebration of 10 years to the founding of the Jewish Brigade took place and a commemorative book with this emblem on the cover was published. Approximately 32,000 Palestinian Jews served in the British forces during the war.
Israel: Emblem-Stift für palästinensische Juden, die bei britischer Militär im zweiten. Weltkrieg als Freiwillige dienten, ca. 1954; kein Hersteller gekennzeichnet; Größe: 17,5 x 20 mm; Gewicht: 2,5 g. Zeigt Schwert (dessen Basis verwandelt in Ölzweig), der Ring des Stacheldrahtes & Kette bricht, einschließend Davidstern gegen Streifen der israelischen / zionistischen Flagge. Möglicherweise stammt bis 1954, wenn eine offizieller Feiertag von 10 Jahren zur Gründung der Jüdischen Brigade stattfand und ein Buch mit diesem Emblem auf dem Deckblatt erschien. Etwa 32.000 palästinensischen Juden dienten in der britischen Armee während des Krieges.

Finland: rare armshield badge of Finnish volunteers in German military service, circa 1941-43. This armshield was probably worn by members of the Finnish Volunteer Battalion of the Waffen-SS ("Finnisches Freiwilligen Bataillon"), formed in June 1941 (and disbanded in June 1943). It may also have been worn by Finnish volunteers serving in the 5th 'Wiking' Division of the Waffen-SS, or in the NSKK or Organisation Todt. This is the printed version of the national emblem, cut from sheets, and the border is visible on this piece. Excellent, preserved condition.
Finnland: seltenes Armschild-Abzeichen der finnischen Freiwilligen in deutscher Militärdienst, ca. 1941-43. Dieser Armschild war vermutlich von Mitgliedern des finnischen Freiwilligen-Bataillons der Waffen-SS getragen, gegründet Juni 1941 (und im Juni 1943 aufgelöst). Er konnte auch von finnischen Freiwilligen-Dienst in der 5. 'Wiking' Division der Waffen-SS oder im NSKK oder Organisation Todt getragen worden. Dies ist die gedruckte Version des Staatsemblems, geschnitten von Blättern, und die Grenze ist auf dieses Stück sichtbar. Ausgezeichneter Erhaltungszustand.
