Original M.I.D certificate to Ty Sub Lieutenant (A) Alan Charles Powell R.N.V.R HMS Battler LG 21. 03. 1944. Lot includes personal photograph HMS Battler emblem (photographic) Airplane on flight deck. 1935 Jubilee Medal, Sports lots (discus), 1938 Plastic Navy Pilots Wings (scarce) and 1914-15 Trio named to his father 43165 Pte. J. Powell R.A.M.C in GVF. Lieut A. C. Powell was killed whilst flying 09.11.44 from HMS Condor Sqd 778 (mosquito) in Arbroath on radar training. M.I.D was for Operation 'Avalanche' and recognises his contribution having taken part in three invasions, N. Africa, Sicily and Italy etc. Copy documents, GVF
