That was a series of sporting events that took place in Athens in the years: 1859, 1870, 1875 and 1888-1889 and was the first substantial attempt in modern history to revive the Olympic Games. Head of King George I on obverse. Inscription "ΑΓΩΝΟΘΕΤΗΣ ΕΥΑΓΓΕΛΗΣ ΖΑΠΠΑΣ / ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑ ΑΘΗΝΗΣΙ ΑΩΟ. / ΤΑΞΕΩΣ Β" within wreath on reverse. Engraved by Barre. Diameter: 37mm. Inside slab by NGC "AU DETAILS / MOUNT REMOVED / ZAPPAS OLYMPICS - CLASS B / VICTORS AWARD (37mm)". Cert number: 4861763-002. (Chase# 635). Probably by mistake NGC mention 1875 as the year on the label.
