Three line dated PANAMA / TRANSIT ((Nov 22) in black and charged "2/-" due with handstamp in black upon arrival (Dec 15). Small ex tape stain at lower left part of back flap missing otherwise a fine and most attractive cover.

1867: ABN 10 c. blue, a single example used on 1875 cover to New Bedford, Mass., USA cancelled in black with "Valparaiso / Chile" despatch cds in red (July 3) alongside. Circular "PANAMA / TRANSIT" cds (July 20) in black and struck there with large "12" due marking in black on the adhesive. Reverse with British P.O. "Callao" cds (July 14) and obverse with "NEW YORK / DUE 19 CENTS" charge marking (Aug 10) in black. A fine and unusual cover....

1890: Ministry of Marine stampless cover sent to Valparaiso, dated 1 August 1890, with very fine "MINISTERIO DE MARINA / SUB-SECRETARIA" ship cachet, with Santiago datestamp alongside, the backflap is printed "MINISTERIO DE MARINA / REPUBLICA DE CHILE", arrival 2 August 1890 in black to reverse; the sailing ship cachet was used to cancel the 1907 official stamps, very rare on cover. 1901: Newspaper-wrapper, "Master-die" proof, produced by Waterlow and Sons for the 1901 newspaper-wrapper, with value tablet blank and manuscript number 2881 in margin. The wrappers were issued with DOS CENTAVOS and VEINTE CENTAVOS inscription, minor scuffing and closed punch hole. Exceptionally rare proof, together with two unused wrappers as issued.

1913: O'Higgins 10 c. black & blue in a pair, used on reverse of 1913 cover from Lonquimay to USA; tied by "LONQUIMAY / CHILE" undated circular cachets in black. This village (tiny at this date) is near the Lonquimay Volcano, the cover showing further fine strike of the despatch mark on overse and Victoria and Santiago transit cds's. Rare.
