Israeli "no service" marks on mail to Arab states: 28 JAN 1951 airmail cover from PONDICHERRY India to BETHLEHEM "Jordan, Palestine", franked 14 Annas & tied by strike of local boxed postmark; mis-routed via ISRAEL, where backstamped 6-2-1951 JERUSALEM arrival, censored & sealed by Gladstone Type-9 with unrecorded "Vav 1014" + marked "PAS DE SERVICE VIA ISRAEL" instructional marking handstamp K-Type-II.2 on last known date of use & Hebrew "RETURN TO" handstamp (Glassman unlisted) on front; returned to sender & resent: backstamped 17 [MR 51] AMMAN transit (unclear), 18 MR 51 (EAST) JERUSALEM transit & next day BETHLEHEM A & BETHLEHEM B arrival (back/front). Rare: less than 30 covers known marked by T-II.2. Cut open at left.
