1930, 10 October, USA, Fire in Postal Railroadcars, two commercial covers (one large size) each bearing straight line "DAMAGED IN FIRE OF / STORAGE CAR N Y & CHI / RPO 10 OCT 10 BATAVIA N Y", one cover with content. A mail car of an eastbound New York Central line train was badly damaged by fire of undetermined origin with virtually all the mail being destroyed.
