Austrian Offices in the Levant - postage due - 1908, Great Britain, 1 d carmine King Edward VII, single franking on cover from Westkensington, FE 10 08, addressed to Charing Cross in London, from there forwarded by the company Cox & Co. (on reverse violet oval stamp "FORWARDED BY COX & CO. 16, CHARING CROSS S.W.) to Florence in Italy, there because of insufficient franking with 5 C and 10 C Italian postage due in FIRENZE, 13.2.08, retaxed and forwarded again by post to Jerusalem. On arrival at JERUSALEM, 24.II.08, with 20 Para dark green postage due stamp of Austrian Levant. Letter in conservation with various signs of wear/stains. Exceptional and probably unique franking and postage paid combination. ÷ Österreichische Post in der Levante - Portomarken - 1908, Großbritannien, 1 d karmin König Edward VII, EF auf Brief von Westkensington, FE 10 08, adressiert nach Charing Cross in London, von dort weitergeleitet durch die Firma Cox & Co. (rückseitig violetter Ovalstempel "FORWARDED BY COX & CO. 16, CHARING CROSS S.W.) nach Florenz in Italien, dort wegen unzureichender Frankatur mit 5 C und 10 C italienischen Portomarken in FIRENZE, 13.2.08, nachtaxiert und nochmals postalisch weitergeleitet nach Jerusalem. Bei Ankunft mit 20 Para dunkelgrün Portomarke der Österreichischen Post in der Levante in JERUSALEM, 24.II.08, ein zweites Mal nachtaxiert. Brief in Bedarfserhaltung mit diversen Gebrauchsspuren/Flecken. Außergewöhnliche und wohl einzigartige Frankatur- und Nachporto-Kombination.
