France, 1875, small size envelope addressed to Marseilles/France bearing Ceres 80 C. rose and 10 C. brown/rose (2, shades) tied by anchor in lozenge w. adjacent "LIGNE N Paqu.Fr. No.7 17 JANV 75" (Salles 1921) with framed "PD" in vermilion. Carried by french mail steamer "Ava", Shanghai-Saigon-Aden and transferred to the "Sind" w. "LIGNE N No. 8 22 JANV 75" on reverse with Marseilles arrival of Feb. 4 , the arrival day of the "Sindh" at that port. Lovely item of French maritime mail from China.
