1882 (Nov 27): De La Rue Essay for the 2½ d. value, with piece from the DLR records bearing "2½ PENCE" surcharge in black on imperforate 1 d. brown and on 1 d. lake, each further overprinted "CANCELLED" in black (Samuel Type D7).
