Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 2

1863/81: Laureated 10 d. grey-black, 1865 Emergency printing, wmk. '8' on De La Rue paper, perf. 13, a used horizontal pair on 1866 entire letter endorsed "Per Overland Mail via Marseilles" to Oxford, England, neatly tied by Melbourne duplex (Feb 23) in black. Reverse with Chipping Norton arrival cds (April 12). Illustrated and discussed in "The Stamps of Victoria" by Geoff Kellow RDP on pages 174 and 175: "The only multiple known is a pair used on cover" (there are two such now recorded, both housed in the "Dubois" collection).
