Commemoratives 1958: Christmas Issue, 3½ d. deep scarlet and 4 d. deep violet, Imperforate Die Proofs in issued colours, the usual sunken frame removed and each measuring 38 x 44 mm. The 3½ d. was numbered '36' and the 4 d. numbered '18', originally presented to W.L. Russell, of the Stamp Advisory Committee. The handstamped "C.B.A. / NOTE PRINTING / BRANCH" in violet and numbers and dates ('24.10.58') accompany the lot. Rare and fine, just 9 Proofs were struck BW 345DP(1) + 346DP(1) = $ 5'000.rn
