1850, 1 d. red, plate 100, lettered PB, Archer Perf. 16, used on printed wrapper, from Sheffield to London, dated 17 February 1854, tied by indistinct black numeral, arrival to reverse dated 18 Feb 1854, stamp has trimmed perfs. along base, minor soiling, a fine early date example from the General Distribution of 1853-1854 used provincially, very scarce; around 40% of the Archers issued from this distribution went to provincial offices, the rest to London.
