1854/85: Selection of five covers sent from Buenos Aires to different locations, comprising three stampless and two franked, with 1854 prepaid entire to Rosario with very fine strike of the oval framed "FRANCO" in blue, an 1868 Ravadavia 5 c. red used unusually on reverse of cover to Genoa, Italy, tied by datestamp dated 26 October 1874, sent via France, taxed on arrival 1 lire with postage due stamp tied on arrival to front, also an 1870 unpaid cover with letter to Hannover, sent via French Packet, endorsed "per Gironde", with octagonal 'BUENOS AYRES / PAQ. FR. J. No. 1' datestamp (March 31) in black and Paris framed "F. / 48" to front and a Registered 1885 12 c. green postal stationery envelope up-rated with 1884 12 c. blue to Montevideo, Uruguay. A scarce group, some imperfections and flaws but in the main fine. Ex the Brian Moorhouse Estate.
