1909: Sucre 50 c. black & sepia, a vertically bisected example used on 1916 cover to New York, tied by circular "CORREOS DE BOLIVIA / RIBERALTA" despatch cds (Aug 29) in violet. Carried on the River Amazon roue rather than the Pacific, backstamped "PORTO VELHO / AMAZONAS" in violet (Sept 11) and further Amazonas transit alongside (Sept 20) in black. Flap damage on reverse at top but covers taking this route are seldom encountered.
