1862: 3 d. rose, plate 2, without dots, clear spandrels, in combination with a horizontal pair 1864 1 d. red, plate 76 and 1865 6 d. deep lilac, plate 5, used on cover, from Liverpool to Albano, Italy, dated 26 May 1865, tied by the '466' Liverpool duplex in black, with single circle 'PD' in red and Calais transit cds alongside in black (27 May). To reverse a London circular cds in red (27 May) and a faint arrival cds in black (31 May). Also has Doron Azouri Collection owner mark. Stamps just overlap top, some perf. disturbance. Otherwise very fine and scarce. The plate 2 3 d. rose is a difficult stamp to locate on cover and especially so in a tri-clour mixed franking combination. This being one of two recorded.
