Auction 333-341 Western Australia & Great Britain - Day 3

1881 (Dec 13): 1 d. lilac, wmk. Crown, perf. 14, used on a mourning cover, from London to Harrogate, dated 9 March 1887, tied by the very rare 'Dot Matrix' Hoster Trial Machine cancellation in black. To the reverse an arrival cds in black (MR 10). Minor disturbance to edges. A fine uncreased cover and a decent strike of this difficult to locate postmark, which was only in use between 2 February and 21 March 1887 (Dubus Type 45).
