Auction 333-341 Western Australia & Great Britain - Day 3

1897/1900: Study of the Bickerdike Trial Machine cancel in black, presented upon twenty pages, comprising thirty-eight covers/cards (38) and three pieces (3). Half the pages are focused upon the ䷀ V♚R ䷀ and the others on the E ♚ R examples, of which four covers have the Victoria instead of the Edward Crown between ER. Included is a page with two pieces franked with 1881 1 d. lilac tied by the 1897 First Trial ䷀ V♚R ䷀ cancel one with serifs and one without serifs to VR. The other pages are primarily given over to examples of the London experimental with a page dedicated to the Liverpool Trial which contains two examples from Machine 1, one a 1900 UPU 1 d. postal card sent to Hamburg. Of those from London there is at least two example of each of the six Machine numbers. Various frankings and destinations inland and overseas. Condition varys although several better. A scarce assembly (41).
