1840: 1 d. black, Mulready letter sheet, Frome 3, A69, used from London to Elgin, Scotland, dated 29 May 1840, cancelled by a red Maltese Cross, with faint partial London Twopenny Post handstamp in black alongside. To the reverse a circular dispatch in red and a Scottish arrival (May 31) in black. Cover is stained and there are faults and wear to edges. A scarce May usage Gi = £ 1'200.
