Crimean War 1854-1855: An interesting selection of 6 items comprising three examples cancelled by "Crown & Stars" obliterator including, an 1841 imperf. 1 d. red pair lightly struck but clearly, 1854 1 d. red Die I, perf. 16 in a vertical strip of three with two fair strikes, 1 d. red Die II, perf. 14 with a clear strike; and examples cancelled by the "O*O" obliterator including; 1855 1 d. red, Die I perf. 14 small crown wmk. in a horizontal pair, 1855 1 d. red, Die II, perf. 14 large crown wmk. in a vertical strip of three and a very fine strike on an 1854 2 d. pl. 4, perf. 16. Comes with a cover sent to London franked with strip of three 1854 1d reds (corner repair to third stamp) one tied by "Crown & Stars" and to the reverse a "POST OFFICE BRITISH ARMY" in green-blue dated 26 Febrauary 1855 . Almost without exception faults and or minor imperfections. However, a particularly scarce and attractive group Gi = £ 2'630.
