Nouvelle-Calédonie 1860: 10 c. grey-black imperforate (pos. 32 on the sheet of 50 subjects) and 1881/86 Dubois 25 c. black on rose (6) all used on local 1891 registered cover with ValueDeclared at 100 francs, registration receipt adhered to cover at base, the adhesives all tied by "NOUVELLE CALEDONE / NOUMEA" datestamp (June 29) in black. Reverse with red rate box and five intact red wax seals. The envelope with toning and edge faults but nevertheless a rare usage of one of the rarest of all Number One's on letter.
