Austrian Lloyd 1867/74: 10 s. blue, a single example used on 1878 cover from Varna to Constantinople tied by the incredibly scarce "VARNA / LLOYD" circular datestamp (March 13) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 940). Reverse with "CONSTANTINOPOLI / LLOYD" cds (March 14). Locally readdressed within Constantinople on arrival with Istanbul Local City Post 20 pa. yellow applied for redirection to Ayos Stefanos tied by framed "Borsa Telegraph Office" handstamp with circular framed "San Stefano, Yesilkoy" arrival on reverse in black (Coles & Walker figs. 159 & 8). A magnificent and extremely rare cover that opens well for Exhibit display. Cert. RPSL (2009).
