British Protectorate 1815-1864 1846 (Aug 21/Sept 3g): Entire letter from Cefalonia to Syra, Greece endorsed "Col Vap. Inglese via Patrasso", struck on despatch with hooded "CEFALONIA" datestamp in black (Sept 3) with "3" (pence) local fee, and well struck by "♚ / PAID AT CEPHALONIA" in black with "5" (pence) fee adjacent in manuscript. Oval Greek "From Overseas" handstamp and reverse with Patras, Athens cds (Aug 26j) in blue and Syra cds (Sept 1j) of arrival where charged 50 lepta to collect in manuscript. A fine and rare entire Gi = £ 1800.
