Italian Military Post Office in Smirna 1919/23: The Exhibit collection on leaves with covers/cards (29) from the opening of the Military Office on 1st March 1919 with early usage 1919 cover to London franked 25 c. tied by POSTA MILITAIRE / 171" cds (March 13) censored on reverse; covers/cards at various rates with "171" cds with Censor labels applied on despatch etc., card with "POSTA MILITARE ITALIANI / SMYRNE" cachet in black; May 1919 registered cover to Patmos via Rhodes and censored, covers (3) to Germany censored on arrival, 1920 unsealed cover rated to Linz, Austria at 5 c. rate, May 1921 reg'd cover at 1 l. 50 c. rate to Constantinople, 1922 increased rate cover and card, 1923 covers with 1 l. franking and registered cover at 2 l. tied by "POSTA MILITARE No. 171 / SMIRNE" datestamps etc. A delightful lot.
