 Lot 1220 - World asia and middle-east - Stephen Album Rare Coins Numismatic Auction #22YEMEN: AR thaler, AH1371, KM-X2, countermarked with both obverse and reverse of the AH1371 (1951/52) 1/16 ahmadi riyal dies, on "1780" Maria Theresa thaler, Unc, RR. The countermark dies appear to be genuine dies from the San'a mint. It has been suggested that there were struck at the San'a mint by request of the same individuals who produced all the fantasy countermarks of Nejd, Hejaz, Pemba, etc., in the early to mid 1960s.
