lot # 36 - united states colonials
1787 Connecticut Miller 47-a.3 Rarity-6 AG3. Draped Bust Left. Slightly glossy medium brown fading to chocolate in protected areas. The surfaces are covered with microscopic porosity on all but the highpoints, which are smooth. No verdigris, planchet defects, or contact marks. Basically just a well worn early copper. Struck slightly off center to K-11. The date is off the planchet and much of the legend is unreadable. A rare variety that is missing from many advanced collections. Both dies were used solely in this marriage. Weight 132.9 grains. Listed on page 62 in the "Redbook."
Estimated Value $50-UP.
