China. China - Empire. Three Kingdoms, Kingdom of Wu AE "Da Quan Wu Bai" (Large Coin of 500 Cash), 236 - 246 AD. The large whole type, 29 mm. A beautiful example of this series issued during severe inflation periods. Was put into circulation in 236 AD, but rejected by the market due to the reduced weight, and in 246 AD, the series was recalled after 10 years' struggling. All four characters are sharp and the coin is covered with even light green patina. A hint of vermilion toning at 2 o'clock. Choice Very Fine.
