(1792-94) Kentucky Halfpenny with Engrailed Edge Breen-1162 Rarity-5+ VF25. Ten points sharper but the reverse (pyramid side) is covered with a thin coat of lacquer or some similar substance. In addition there is some crud caked around the devices beneath the coating. The obverse (scroll side) is smooth and choice. Glossy dark chocolate brown. The engrailed edge feature is complete and strong (actually the edge is diagonally reeded, not engrailed, but most guides refer to it as engrailed). Weight 148.0 grains; diameter 30.0 millimeters (plain edge examples are normally under 29.0mm in diameter). A tough variant with the engrailed edge. Listed on page 75 in the "Redbook."
Estimated Value $150-UP.
