Syria French Mandate. Proof of 1942 Syria President Taj al-Din al-Hasani 15 Piastres on an un-adopted* design in red-orange color printed by I. C. Beyrouth on ivory cardboard (S.G. n 365), on block of six without the background color. Printing stamps measuring 21 x 34½ mm, therefore its smaller than the 15 Piastres in blue and pale blue stamp issued which measures 21 x 36¾ mm (*the image of the President in the oval is different, in the issued stamps the left hand is clearly visible while in this proof it is cut by the oval).
