1909, 13 May, Germany, Railway accident at Herrlisheim (Alsace), two ppc: from Venice to Germany with German straight line "Beschaedigt beim Eisenbahn / Unfall bei Herlisheim"; and from Switzerland to Holland with Dutch label "Beschadigd bij de spoorwegramp te Herlisheim" (this entire with PTT covering envelope). In the evening hours of 13 May, the express train D 161 Basel-Amsterdam crashed into a wrecked cargo train. Six persons were killed, a great number (severely) injured.
