1860/72: Diadem 1 d. orange-red, 2 d. blue and 6 d. grey-brown, all perf. 12, used on 1861 cover to Cockermouth endorsed "via Marseilles", tied by neat strikes of "Sydney / NSW" duplexes in black (Jan 21). Carried on the "Behar" departing Sydney on 22 Jan, thence by the "Nubia" from Galle to Suez and the "Valetta" from Alexandria to Marseilles. Cockermouth arrival cds on reverse (March 17). Slight vertical bend touches the 1 d. adhesive but a charming and scarce three colour franking.rn
