1856: Mexico District 4 r. red, a very fine example used on reverse of 1858 entire letter to Agen, France tied by "FRANCO / MEXICO" datestamp (Nov 2) in black (Schatzkes fig. 821) paying the internal rate per Extraordinario. British P.O. VERA CRUZ cds on reverse (Nov 4), carried to St. Thomas on the RMSP "Clyde" and to Southampton on the "Panama", thence via London (Dec 2) where "GB / 1F 60c." accountancy marking applied. Charged with handstruck '8' décimes due marking in black. Slight edge wear but a rare entire that opens well for Exhibit display. Signed Todd AIEP.
