Recess by Perkins Bacon 1853: 2 d. green and 4 d. blue, imperforate, wmk. Large Star, used examples with margins touched to fine, on 1857 cover to Enfield, Middlesex with each cancelled with sans-serif "4" handstamps in black. Two line "MACQUARIE / PLAINS" despatch handstamp at left (Postmaster's private handstamp) in black with manuscript "13-7-57" above and "PRE-PAID" Hobart datestamp (July 14) in red at right applied in transit.
