Auction 333-341 Australian States & Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand – The ‚KOOYONG‘ Collection - Day 2

1901/02: 5 c. black & orange-vermilion, locally overprinted vertically upwards (Type D1) with stop, perf. 13½-14, a used horizontal strip of three, the first stamp with variety "Stop Omitted", cancelled by two strikes of a Sandakan cds in black (15 Feb 1902). A very rare example, this variety unlisted (SG 2023) and neatly illustrated along with the normal overprint.
